Mmmm...Baked Potato soup sounds really good! I've never made it but I've always been curious.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to share the recipe! You my dear are missing out! ;0)
DeleteStopped by from MPM. I am laughing looking at your menu and thinking you must be in the midwest because I still get teased by my family about the time we were visiting relatives in Silver City, Iowa and the fire department had a fund raiser dinner serving Maid-Rite sandwiches (we are from the East Coast and had never heard of them before)and unfortunately I got sooooo sick. My dad called me up from his car about ten miles out of town (once we were able to leave) and asked if I wanted to pull over because he'd just seen a sign for Maid Rite sandwiches! LOL. They were sure good, but not for me. I love baked potato soup, though. We add bacon bits, sour cream, and chives to ours and it tastes divine (the Velveeta cheese doesn't hurt, either). I hope you have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the Midwest. :0) And we too add sour cream, chives to our Baked potato soup, too! {Sometimes bacon bits, other times crispy bacon crumbles.} We also add a little smoke flavoring to ours. It's divine!
DeleteI want to eat at your house.
ReplyDeleteFondly,
Glenda
Well, I'd love to have you! :0)
DeleteI love that photo... so homey, simple and inviting!
ReplyDeleteI love Shepard's Pie!
ReplyDeleteany tips on achieving edible buttermilk biscuits? about 6 mos. ago i found a supposedly no-fail recipe and managed to avoid failure twice; the 3rd time my biscuits flopped (dry, not light and fluffy), as have all subsequent attempts with a handful of different recipes. i certainly wish i knew what i was doing differently (incorrectly) that i didn't do the first 2 times! i'm already following all the tips i can find - handling the dough lightly and quickly; my baking powder is fresh; etc. - but still, buttermilk biscuits hate me! i'd rather work with yeast breads any day.
ReplyDeletewe had maidrites tonight. :) other items on this week's menu include/have included French toast, ham & cheese melts, chicken fajitas, pizza (of course homemade), and pork loin. my menu is at the moment incomplete - i'm hoping we'll have news on the job front by wednesday, at which point cooking might be a lesser concern for a while.
love,
your sister.
